Effective July 24, 2026
Harris Family Connection is a private, invitation-only platform for members of the Harris family. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We built this for the family, not for advertising — we do not sell your information, and we do not show ads.
Harris Family Connection (“the app,” “we,” “us”) is a family-run community platform. Access is limited to Harris family members and people they invite. The app is maintained by family administrators, who are the people responsible for the information described here.
We collect only what the app needs to work:
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
If you choose “Continue with Google,” we ask Google only for your basic profile: your name, email address, and profile picture. We use these to create and identify your account. We do not request access to your Gmail, contacts, calendar, files, or any other Google data. You can review or revoke the app’s access at any time in your Google Account permissions.
Your information stays within the family. Specifically:
We rely on a small number of trusted service providers to run the app. They process information only to provide their service to us:
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety and rights of the family and its members.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If your account is removed, we delete your profile and personal content, though we may retain limited records where needed — for example, financial transaction history is kept as a permanent, unedited ledger for the family treasurer’s records, and certain administrative audit entries are preserved.
Access requires signing in, and the whole app is limited to family members. Every request is checked on the server against your permissions. Passwords are stored only in a securely hashed form, and connections use encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Family children may appear in the family tree and in photos shared by their relatives. Accounts are intended for adults and older family members; a parent or guardian should manage participation for a minor in their household. If you believe a child’s information has been added in a way you’d like changed, contact us and we will help.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the effective date at the top, and for significant changes we’ll let the family know within the app.
